Along with the belief of worship ancestors, worship of Mother Goddesses and many other typical folk beliefs, in the worship of the Vietnamese, Th�nh Ho�ng l�ng (the Village's Tutelary god)1 is one of the popular beliefs throughout the country. In Vietnamese villages and communes, the Village's Tutelary god is a sacred belief, a spiritual support for village communities for generations. Through the ups and downs of the times, the belief of worshiping the Village's Tutelary god had many changes, however, along with other folk beliefs, the belief of the Village's Tutelary god has played an important part in creating the characteristic of beliefs and the culture of Vietnam. This analysis provides a discussion of the difference between the Tutelary god and the Village's Tutelary god, the basic characteristics creed of the Village's Tutelary god: the classification of Village's Tutelary god, rank of village Tutelary's gods and places of it; the value and meaning of the belief of worshiping the Village's Tutelary god in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people. Since then, continue to promote positive values and eliminate the negative elements of this belief in today's life in Vietnam.
