Abstract
A new species of stag beetle is described from Hunan, central China, Lucanus zhanbishengi sp. n. (Coleoptera: Lucanidae: Lucaninae). Important morphological characters of the new species and two relative species, L. brivioi Zilioli, 2003 and L. kraatzi Nagel, 1926, are illustrated with color plates.
